The site on a ridge line overlooking the inlet estuary to north-west and views north-east beyond to Mount Paku. The existing access road runs to the east of the site and privacy to be considered. The prevailing wind is from the south west.
The design responds to the site and brief with the following features:
Site layout to maximise solar orientation and views to the inlet and Mount Paku. Staggered plan to open up the façade and turn its back on the prevailing SW wind
Large expansive north facing deck with sun shading/ louvres and covered outdoor room with screening to provide privacy from the road and shelter from the prevailing wind.

Minimalist modern pavilion form with extensive glazing
Open plan living/dining/kitchen, stacked bi-folds to open-up to deck and outdoor room with a servery from the kitchen
Private wing for master with ensuite and walk-in-robe, two bedrooms and bathroom
